Guo Naihui
Guo Naihui (1955–), 6th generation of Tongbei Wuyi. Originally from Anshan, Liaoning province, currently resides in Lanzhou. Senior-level coach at the Gansu Provincial Sports School and president of the Ma Yingda Tongbei Martial Arts Research Association. He is the fourth son-in-law and top disciple of Ma Yingda.
In 1975, he was admitted to the Wushu department of Beijing Sport University, where he studied under instructors such as Zhang Wenguang, Cai Longyun, Cheng Chuanrui, Han Guixiang, Men Huifeng, Chen Xuelong, He Ruihong, Qi Hai, Wang Deying, and Wang Yuzhen.
After graduating in 1978, he served as a Wushu coach at the Gansu Provincial Sports School.
In the autumn of 1978, with master Wang Zhihe from Luipanshui city in Guizhou district, he studied and learned Tongbei.
Starting in 1979, he studied under Grandmaster Ma Yingda of the Tongbei martial art, learning styles such as Piguaquan, Bajiquan, Fanziquan, Chuojiao, Qiqiang, Luheqiang, Fengmogun, Biangan, Piguadao, and Shuangshoudao. He is particularly skilled in the internal branch styles of Tongbei, such as Dajiazi, Datangzi, Liudakai, and Badazhao.
In 1983, at the National Wushu Observation and Exchange Competition in Nanchang, he won an excellence award in the Bajiquan category.
Guo Naihui dedicated himself to the study of classical martial arts and intensely researched martial classics such as Jixiao Xinshu, Wubei Zhi, Gengyu Shengji, Shoubi Lu, and Wuyi Tupu Tongzhi. As a result of his accomplishments, he gained recognition in both domestic and international martial arts circles.
In 2004, he collaborated with martial arts scholars from the Shanghai Sports Institute—such as Chen Baoqiang, Chen Zhenyong, Ma Jian, Lu Donghao, Ma Wenguo, Zhang Shengli, Tian Xuejian, and Shen Guoqing—to form an elite martial arts research and heritage preservation team.
In 2014, he appeared on CCTV’s “Real Kung Fu Experiences” program, where he showcased the Piguaquan martial art.
